Forest City Trail
Forest City is a beautiful trail network located right in St. James and a favorite for day hiking and mountain biking. With 11 miles of trails and a mountain biking flow track, this is the perfect escape for outdoor lovers.
Directions:
I-44 to St. James, Exit 195. South on 8. East on KK for 2 miles. Trailhead is south across railroad tracks.
Woodson K. Woods Memorial Conservation Area
Woodson K. Woods Memorial Conservation Area, located off Highway 8, near St. James, is one of the most beautiful state-owned properties in Missouri. The area consists of 5,658 acres in Crawford and Phelps counties. The Meramec River and Dry Fork Creek and their tributaries have cut scenic valleys through the area's rugged Ozark hills.
Access to the Meramec is at Highway 8; the next public access is at Scotts Ford, located nine miles downstream.
St. James Hiking and Biking Trails
Our bike trails offer residents several miles of trail between Nelson Hart Park through town, along south side of Missouri Veterans Home continuing to the Industrial Park then south toward Boys & Girls Town (Great Circle).
